Triangle mushroom dish

This hand built ceramic dish is accented with a hand drawn sgraffito emblem. The sketches are lightly drawn on the clay, no transfers or tracing. Each drawing is unique and one of a kind. The little lines are then carved into the emblem and dusted away. The piece is then bisque fired and the emblems are covered with iron oxide and then layer upon layer is meticulously wiped away, leaving the stark contrast of dark lines on white clay. I carefully paint in subtle shadows to add depth to each illustration. Finally the pieces are glazed and fired to cone 6.
 
Dish measures 12 inches wide, 1 inch tall, and 6 inches deep.
